Instructions
- Heat the pan on medium flame, add rawa (cream of wheat) and start roasting.
- Make sure to stir often while roasting the rawa.
- When rawa started to look dry , separated and leaving fragrance switch off the flame.
- Please don't brown the rawa.
- Add roasted rawa in a plate and keep aside.
- In a pan heat the oil on medium heat .
- Once the oil is hot add mustard seeds, hing.
- When mustard start crackling add chana daal, udad daal and fry till lite brown.
- Add dry red chillies and cashew saute for minute.
- Add curry leaves and onion fry until they become translucent.
- Now add potatoes and salt to taste and fry till potatoes are cooked.
- (In this stage you can add 1 tablespoon green peas or any other chopped vegetables also)
- Now mix water and beaten yogurt together.
- Add water mix yogurt into the pan, add sugar and stir nicely.
- Once water started boiling lower the flame into lowest , now slowly add rawa and stir quickly.
- Rawa absorb water very quickly.
- Cover and steam for 2-3 minutes.
- Lastly open the lid add ghee chopped coriander and grated coconut and stir nicely.
- SERVE UPMA HOT WITH CHOPPED CORIANDER AND THIN SEV(OPTIONAL)
