Tapioca (Sabudana) Khichidi
Ingredients
- Tapioka (Sabudana) - 2 Cups
- Rosted Crush Peanuts - 5-6 Tablespoon
- Cumin Seeds - 1 Teaspoon
- Curry Leaves - 6-7 Leaves
- Chopped Green Chillies - 2-3 As Per Taste
- Boiled Poatato - 1 Medium Size
- Salt - As Per Taste
- Sugar - 1/4 Teaspoon
- Optional
- Greated Coconut - 3 Tablespoon
- Chopped Coriander - 2 Tablespoon
Instructions
1.Add sabudana (Tapioca) in large wide bowl.
2.Pour water and stir the tapioca well, then drain the water completely.
3. Repeat step 2, 2-3 times, this removes the starch from tapioca.
4.Soak Tapioca in 1 1/5 cup of water. (do not soak them in lot of water. it should only reach above the tapioca)
5.Soak tapioca at least 5-6 hours (best if overnight).
6.When tapioca properly soaked, and absorbed all the water, their size will be double.
7. Drain the remaining water out.
8. On medium-high heat add three tablespoon of oil, then add cumin seeds and when they begin to sputter, add curry leaves and chopped green chillies.
9. Saute for 1-2 minutes then add boiled chopped potatoes and sprinkle little salt.
10. Saute for 5 minutes on medium heat then add crushed peanuts.
11.Fry for 2 minutes then turn the gas to medium add Tapioca, sugar , grated coconut, and salt to taste.
12.Mix everything well on high heat until tapioca turns transparent(do not overcook it takes 2-3 minutes).
13.Remove from the heat add coriander leaves and if needed squeeze lemon juice.
