ALLOO TIKKI
Ingredients
- FOR TIKKI
- Boiled Mashed Potatoes - 5 Medium
- Shaha jeera or Jeera, (Cumin) - 1 Teaspoon
- Salt - As Per Taste
- Red Chili Powder (or As Per Taste) - 1 Teaspoon
- Finely Chopped Green Chilies - 2
- Chopped Green Coriander - 2 Tablespoon
- Bread - 5 Slices
- FOR FILLING
- Finely Chopped Onion - 1 Medium
- Ginger Paste - 1 Teaspoon
- Green Chilies Finely Chopped - 2
- Finely Chopped Green Coriander - 2 Tablespoon
- Coriander and Cumin Powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Amchur or Dry Mango powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Salt - As Per Taste
- Sugar (Optional) - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Grated Coconut - 2 Tablespoon
- Oil - For Frying
Instructions
Filling: Mix all the filling ingredients together and keep aside. Tikki:
- In a bowl take mashed potatoes add shah jeera or jeera, red chili powder, green chilies, coriander leaves.
- Soak the bread into the water and squeeze it to remove excess water, add into potato mixer,then add salt to test.
- Kneed the mixer into the dough rub oil to your hand to kneed the dough. Take the portion of the dough and flatten it (to make it smoother apply oil )
- Add filling mixture and close it gently, then flatten the aaloo tikki and either deep fry it or shallow fry until it turns golden brown.
- Serve with ketchup and mint chutney.
