BATATA(POTATO)WADA
Ingredients
- For Batter
- Salt to Taste
- Asafoetida - 1/4 Teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder - 1 Teaspoon (According To Taste)
- Coriander and Cumin Powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Hot Oil - 1 Tablespoon
- Gram Flour (Basan) - 1 Cup
- For Sabji
- Big Potatoes - 3 Boiled And Mashed (Not Completely)
- Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Asafoetida(Hing) - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Curry Leaves - 6-7
- Chopped Green Coriander - 2-3 Tablesppon
- Ginger - 1/2
- Garlic - 3-4 Cloves
- Chopped Green Chilies - 3-4 (As Per Taste)
- Turmeric Powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Sugar (Optional) - 1/4 Teaspoon
- Salt to Taste
- Oil - 2 Tablespoon
- For Frying Oil
Instructions
Sabji:
- In a pan heat 2 tbsp oil, when oil is hot add mustard seeds,in a minute add curry leaves, ginger garlic and chili paste, stir and add hing stir for a minute .
- Add turmeric,add potatoes ,salt and sugar mix well and cover ,cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Then switch off the gas and add cilantro mix and let it cool down.
Batter:
- In a bowl take gram flour (basan),turmeric powder,asafoetida,chili powder ,cumin coriander powder,baking soda and mix nicely.
- Add water to make thick paste then add hot oil and mix well.
Frying:
- Heat the oil in a pan.
- make small balls of sabji we made,(make sure the mixture is cool down)Deep this ball in the batter coat nicely and deep fry for medium high heat for at least 10-15 minutes or it should turn golden brown color.
- Remove and drain the oil on paper towel.
- Serve with ketchup,coriander chutney or red dry chutney.
